Ready for a satisfying spice blend that is easy to make on a budget? Jazz up your food with some splashy color? Adobo Spice Blend is your perfect choice!
Adobo Spice Blend is one of my favorite spices to use in Southwestern, Latin American, Caribbean and Filipino cuisines. The word Adobo comes from the Spanish word adobar, meaning marinade. My family and I like the dry blend best. Adobo Spice does come in a liquid form but I find it less versatile to cook with.
The taste of the blend is exciting and flavorful. My homegrown oregano is an ingredient in this recipe. The colors of the spice make this an attractive and delicious addition to many of my recipes. In addition, the vibrant red color of the chiles and paprika is beautiful. Additives, such as MSG, are contained in most popular brands of Adobo available at stores. Since I avoid all additives, this a strong reason to make your own Adobo Spice Blend.
Recently, I made 50 jars of Adobo Spice Blend as bridal shower favors. I purchased 6 sided 1.5 oz. jars from Fillmore Container.
